What is a vision board?
Vision boards are powerful tools to make visualizing your future goals easier. A vision board is basically a collage of pictures on a board of how you want to be, what you want to have, and what you want to do in future. It can be fun making a vision board. All you need is a large piece of cardboard or paper to stick photos onto, scissors and glue or tape.
When creating your vision board, don’t hold back. Try to put photos on your vision board resembling your goals as close as possible.
There are two main ways to do vision boards.
The first way is to use photos that you cut out from magazines and download from online. You just cut them out and arrange them on your board.
The second way is to make a vision board on your computer using Photoshop or some similar image editing software and then get it made into a poster. I’m currently in the process of doing this now. I’ll show you the result when it’s finished at later date.
Structure of a vision board.
You can be flexible laying it out anyway you want. I recommend putting a photo of yourself smiling in the middle and then have different sections of the board for different areas of your life. You could have a picture of your ideal house in one section, photos of locations you want to travel to or live in future in another, and activities you want to do, e.g. yachting, mountain climbing, playing the guitar, etc in yet another.
You can also include a picture of the way you want to look, and other possessions you want to acquire. When you’ve completed your vision board hang it above your work desk or somewhere else where you’ll often see it.
Have fun and experiment.
You can see in the image below above that I’ve used Photoshop (rather poorly unfortunately) to paste my head from a photo taken a few years ago, on to my ideal future body image. You don’t have to do that, but I don’t see why you can’t. You’ll find that it makes the vision board more “real” and it may even make you chuckle. Have fun!

I have a similar concept implemented in my office. I’ve posted pictures of goals, projects, and things that I want to transform into reality. It reminds you every day to keep pushing and keep the faith.
Excellent!
btw, studly pic of you there on the right LOL – love it
If I put a real photo up of my body, you’d swear you were looking at an albino whale.
These vision boards are great, and it’s good to share them with your partner and family, and get them to do their own.
Definitely a good idea to have each setting their own goals. That way you can help encourage each other and keep each other accountable.
Cool idea. If I can find some time, I am going to have to submit one to you.
Thanks for stopping by LIfeExcursion also.
